When entering VOI definition a set of user interface items appears. There are two layouts: a layout with vertical toolbars right to the image as illustrated below, or a layout with horizontal toolbars below the image. This property can be configured as Toolbars Orientation in the Display/Report pane of the tool configuration.
Note that a substantial part of the functionality is grouped on toolbars which can be detached and dragged to a suitable location by their handle 
. Note that the VOI toolbars can be organized vertically as illustrated above or horizontally, according to the definition in the PMOD tool configuration.
Another helpful item is the 
button which allows hiding the central image layout part for getting more image space. The hidden part can be recovered by activating once more. The functionality is described in the following sections.
