[ PMOD Developers Course - Zurich 2009 Overview]
PMOD Developers Course   |   November 27-28, 2009   |   Zurich, Switzerland
Overview

The aim of the PMOD Developers Course is to train the participants in the use of the programming interfaces to the PMOD framework. Various interfaces can be programmed by the end user, in order to extend PMOD's functionality in respect to kinetic and pixel-wise models, image processing tools, and image segmentation algorithms. Brief presentations will outline the design principles behind the interfaces. They will be followed by in-depth examples and exercises on how to use the interfaces. Ample time will be available for individual practice based on the course handouts and for interacting with the trainers who are all PMOD core developers.

The participants are required to bring their own notebooks. They will obtain a USB flash key containing the latest PMOD version as well as the PMOD Developers Pack. The PMOD Developers Pack comprises the documentation related to PMOD programming, the PMOD development library (pmod.jar file) as well as source code examples. PMOD can be started directly from the key, yet installation of a Java IDE and development environment on the participant's notebook could be necessary. As a courtesy, the key can be taken home and will work for another two months. Moreover, upon completion of the course, each participant will be given access to the PMOD Developers Corner, via the customized support area on the PMOD website that is associated with the participant's PMOD license(s). The Developers Corner provides the latest version of the PMOD Developers Pack.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of the training course the participants:
  • will have a solid understanding of the PMOD framework
  • will be able to program their own extensions using the PMOD Developers Pack
Target Audience

The training course is aimed at licensed PMOD users wishing to complement the PMOD software by customized extensions. Beyond familiarity with the PMOD software, participants are expected to have a basic command of Java or C++ programming.
