History
- 74-year old male.
- Based on clinical symptoms suspicion of vascular dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, or both.
- Patient is referred for PET scan to examine for Alzheimer's Disease by Memory Clinic, Königsfelden, Switzerland.
Visual Inspection
- The FDG PET images indicates an uptake pattern concordant with Alzheimer's Disease.

PALZ Findings
- The analysis reveals a clear bilateral hypometabolism within the parietal, frontal and temporal cortex as well as posterior cingulate gyrus
- Criterion within AD regions is abnormal with high error probabilitiy (t-Sum=44531.34; p<0.0001).

Diagnosis
- According to the PALZ result and in accordance with the clinical symptoms Alzheimer's Disease is diagnosed.
- A vascular component of the disease can not be excluded based on PET.
