Developed for
Researchers
The discipline of Nuclear Medicine is in a fascinating phase of expanding possibilities. Multi-modality imaging allows to correlate function to morphology with unprecedented accuracy. Animal scanners overcome the 1 mm resolution limit allowing to better exploit the potentials of molecular imaging. The PMOD software has been designed for researchers in this challenging field. By implementing all stages of quantitative data processing, it helps the researcher focus on contents rather than tool programming.

Focused on Image
Quantification

PMOD consists of a set of user-friendly and powerful tools, each corresponding to a major task. The general modeling tool contains a comprehensive set of models for the analysis of time-activity data. With the pixel-wise tool specialized models can be applied to calculate functional maps showing absolute tissue parameters. The cardiac tool is tailored to assess function in cardiac segments by full kinetic modeling, and to compare the outcome against normal databases. The image fusion tool not only allows to register images, but also enables the user to explore the calculated functional images in detail. Further interactive investigation is facilitated by the versatile 3D rendering tool. A fully automatic analysis of FDG data from patients with suspected Alzheimer's dementia is provided by the Alzheimer's discrimination analysis tool which is based on the outcome of a vast multi-center trial. Based on the new normal brain database tool users can implement unique strategies to establish their own brain analysis procedure for new tracers or specific diseases.

Note that the PMOD tools have no approval for clinical use.

Runs in Virtually
any Setting

PMOD has been programmed in Java 2 and is currently offered under Windows, Linux and MacOS X. It runs on standard computer platforms, but for the analysis of big data sets (more than 200MB) the following configuration is recommended: a 64-Bit operating system, at least 4GB RAM, a multi-core processor, and a mid- to high-range graphics card (nVidia recommended).

PMOD has been proven with data from many different PET system vendors. Data can be read and written in DICOM as well as native formats. Consequently, PMOD is productive in virtually any setting without additional investments. PMOD can be purchased as a stand-alone license or a network license protected by a USB key.

To date, the user community includes more than 250 sites worldwide. Most of them are dedicated to PET or SPECT research, but others also take advantage of the DICOM or image analysis capabilities.
