General Configuration

The PMOD configuration utility is started with the Config button

Users Button

at the bottom of the toolbar. It appears with three sections accessible by the main tabs. The DICOM and DATABASE tabs are described in the PMOD DICOM Functionality and PMOD Database Functionality sections, respectively.

The USERS tab allows creating PMOD user accounts, and configuring the properties such as the report layout and the available tools for each account separately.

User Configuration Page

Log File

If the box Redirect system informations to Log File is checked, the messages are saved in the file /properties/system/pmsys.log rather than shown in the console window. This can be helpful for error reporting purposes.

Look and Feel

The appearance of the PMOD user interface is dependent on the operating system, and on the selected Look & Feel. In principle, the Cross Platform and the System choices are available. However, on the latest Mac OSX systems, Cross Platform is not supported any longer by Java.

The illustrations in the User's Guides use the Cross Platform look.

User Creation

New user accounts are created with the Add new user button. A login name can be specified, but a password is not required since the accounts are more aimed at separating the environments for different tasks than protecting data access. For each user a subdirectory such as properties/user1 is created, where all the configuration files are maintained. The name given to a user will be attached to data saved in a database.

Note: For all changes of the settings in the lower section it is important to first select the affected user, and then proceed with the configuration.
